Decentral ventilation

Healthy air in the rooms you select

Want to install ventilation in your home? In that case, the choice is between central or decentral ventilation. Decentral ventilation is where a separate ventilation unit is placed in a standalone space or a room.
The biggest advantage of this form of ventilation is that no air duct system is required, so installation can be achieved easily and quickly.

On this page, you can find all the information you require on decentral ventilation for your home and decentral balanced ventilation solutions.

Looking for a central ventilation solution? Then go to our Central Ventilation page.

What is decentral ventilation?

Ventilation without an air-duct network

Decentral ventilation is ideally suited to compact new-build dwellings and renovation projects. And when existing dwellings are extended, an extension or free-standing outbuilding can easily be fitted with its own ventilation units.

Decentral ventilation gives you the option of providing ventilation in individual rooms without the need for the dwelling to have an air-duct network, in contrast to most central ventilation solutions.

How it works

HOW DOES DECENTRAL VENTILATION WORK?

Where decentral balanced ventilation is used, one room or area is ventilated independently of other rooms or areas of the house. A decentral unit controls the supply of fresh air and the exhaustion of foul air. The quantity of exhaust air and fresh air is always in equilibrium.

Decentral ventilation units work without an air-duct system and, as a result, are ideal for use in existing buildings. This is because it’s not necessary to install extra air ducts; a single sleeve leading through the external wall is all that's needed.

Decentral ventilation with HRV

Benefit from an HRV unit in the winter and in the summer

Did you know that decentral ventilation with heat recovery (HRV) is ideal in the cold winter months? The in-built heat exchanger draws in fresh air, which is first warmed by the heat of the used exhaust air. In this way, the air drawn into your home is pre-heated 'for free’ to around 18°C. So a decentral HRV unit ensures that no warmth is lost from the house.

You can even profit from decentral ventilation with HRV in the summer months. At that point, the ventilation units use the cool night air. Fresh, cool air flows into the dwelling without you having to open a window. This is also a good way of keeping mosquitoes out. Decentral ventilation with cooling is the perfect solution for a nice, cooler house on warmer days.

DECENTRAL solutions

Compact, quiet and ENERGY-EFFICIENT

Our decentral ventilation solutions are compact, energy-efficient and quiet.

The NEW Sonair makes ventilation possible in areas where it is better not to open windows because of noise pollution. Or is there odour nuisance, too? Then the Sonair can be fitted with a special carbon filter, which also keeps out smells.

The Air 70 has a built-in heat exchanger and ensures that incoming air is first heated. In that way, no energy is lost and you can easily save on heating costs.

rooms

Which rooms is a decentral ventilation system suitable for?

In principle, a local ventilation unit can be fitted in any room in your home. The living room and bedroom in particular are rooms where we spend a lot of time each day, which makes installation of a decentral ventilation solution ideal.

Living room

DECENTRAL VENTILATION IN THE LIVING ROOM

If you live in a busy environment where there is lots of noise from outside, this can disturb the peace and quiet in your living room. It may even stop you from opening a window: that would expose you to even more disruption from ambient noise.

Brink has decentral ventilation systems for just these sorts of situations that are fitted with soundproofed materials. These compact decentral ventilation units keep noise from outside at bay. Allowing you to enjoy a healthy and peaceful indoor climate.

Bedroom

DECENTRAL VENTILATION IN THE BEDROOM

On average, you spend from 6 to 10 hours per night in the bedroom. If the bedroom is not properly ventilated, there’s a significant chance that you’ll wake up in the morning feeling as if you have a headache or are still tired.
It’s a fact that many people sleep with the window closed, so little or no fresh air can get into the bedroom during the night. This has a negative impact on the air quality and the humidity in the room.

A decentral ventilation system ensures that there is healthy ventilation air at any given point of the day or night, so that you always wake up fully rested.

Unlike central ventilation, with decentral ventilation a separate ventilation unit is installed in standalone spaces. A decentral ventilation unit works without an air-duct network, so installation is simple. In this way you can enjoy clean air in whichever rooms you want.
